Ph.D Programmes 2024-25 Online Application Form

“One who divides India in the name of Religion, Language, Region, Caste, Color etc. are the real enemy of India Mauryas”. The caste system is an old-age system. It is one of the main cause of social inequality in our country. It has been contributed to keeping a large portion of the country’s population backward.

India has been under the clutches of the evil caste system from the ancient period. The exclusion of Dalits also leads to extreme poverty, hunger and disease while at the same time they lag behind in reaping the fruits of development e.g. in the areas of education, health and employment opportunities. It also rules out their involvement in decision making and meaningful participation in public and civil life. After Gandhiji’s movement and Dr. Ambedkar’s revolution, the depressed classes were given equal opportunity, to become literate through general education and enlightenment, by the society. The Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955, and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, prescribe punishments for crimes against Dalits that are much more stringent than corresponding offences under the IPC. Special courts have been established in major states for speedy trial of cases registered exclusively under these Acts.

The first step to prevent castism in an institution is self awareness and self reflection. We must acknowledge our personal biases and seek to understand people with different experiences. In any educational institution it should be in mind of every person that one should protect the dignity of one another.

Monad University takes every possible step to eradicate any form of castism in its premises. In case there is a situation where in the premises students feels let down or humiliated due to some callous comment of someone, the person can directly meet higher authority of their respective department. A action as clean necessary will be initiated against the defaulter. The university wants an environment free of caste discrimination.
